Hypospadias

This post is "way off-topic".

It is now reported that Adolf Hitler had hypospadias, an accident of birth in the form of malformed penis.  Jean-Jacques Rousseau also had the condition, and I have birth data for a third individual born with the same condition (surgically corrected in his youth).

Certain commonalities between all three charts are apparent.

Adolf Hitler
1.  Mars rules Mercury
2.  Mars conjunct Venus
3.  Mars trine Jupiter
4.  Mars trine South Node
5.  Mars parallel Chiron

Jean-Jacques Rousseau
1.  Mars conjunct Mercury
2.  Mars conjunct Venus
3.  Mars trine Jupiter
4.  Mars parallel South Node
5.  Mars trine Chiron

Anonymous Male
1.  Mars semisquare Mercury
2.  Mars square Venus
3.  Mars quincunx Jupiter
4.  Mars conjunct North Node
5.  Mars weakly trine Chiron

Mars configured with Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, the Nodes, and Chiron appears to be a potential formula (or part of a formula) for this most inconvenient condition.

This is all in line with a theory of mine that astrology actually works much "better" than we all think it does, but that in order to unlock much of its power we would need to start scanning charts for patterns too complicated to "eyeball".

Kalamazoo Shootings

A mass-shooting rampage in Kalamazoo, MI, on Saturday.  Six dead.  I see no reports of concurrent violence, and the body count is not very high, so we can expect that the Bloodbath Formula for the event chart will be weak.

Bloodbath Formula
1.  Pallas ruler Saturn parallel Pluto.
2.  Venus semisquare South Node.
3.  Venus ruler Saturn parallel Pluto.
4.  Pluto rules Fourth House
5.  Pluto semisquare Sun.

Most of these aspects are relatively weak.  If the data were available, I'm confident we'd see a Pluto-to-Pallas transit against the chart of both the city and of the perpetrator.

Antonin Scalia

Antonin Scalia, the "originalist" US Supreme Court justice who has strongly molded US law during his tenure, has died recently.  Conservatives and many libertarians are wailing and gnashing their teeth.  Perhaps rightly so.  His horoscope helps explain his mostly-consistent record of interpreting the US Constitution as something resembling its original intent (unlike his more pliable peers).

Pallas/Ethics
Apollonian:   Pallas trine Mercury and sesquiquadrate SunPallas co-ruler Pluto trine Sun and co-ruler Mars semisquare Mercury and square the Nodes
DionysianPallas ruled by Pluto (which is parallel South Node) and weakly trine South Node.
This puts Scalia between the "Libertarian" and "Statist" quadrant of "the Axis of Good and Evil".  Actually, this by itself is enough to explain a personality that is more principled and logically-consistent than not.

Venus/Second-House/Economics
Capitalist: none.
CollectivistVenus sesquiquadrate South Node and ruled by Saturn which is opposite Neptune.  Second House co-ruler Pluto is parallel South Node.

Moon/Fourth-House/Culture
Conservative:  nothing.
LiberalMoon co-ruler Mars quincunx Neptune and co-ruler Pluto parallel South Node.

Scalia may have identified as "conservative", but astrologically he's a weak or conflicted libertarian.  His ideology was not driven by psychology (as is the case with most conservatives) but by logic.

Pluto at MC in Cancer at the center of a yod between Jupiter in Sagittarius in the Third House and Venus/Mercury in Aquarius in the Fourth House:  he was publicly seen as a conservative powerhouse, and was very vocally opposed by ideologues from the opposing party.

Pallas opposite Uranus:  the "world-builder" aspect.  Scalia helped shape modern political America.

Pallas septile Jupiter (which is parallel North Node):  Pallas/Jupiter is a bit of lawyer's or philosopher's aspect.

Scalia's death leaves an opening for overlord Barack Obama to appoint a replacement.  It goes without saying that should Obama get what he wants for the replacement, the Court will become a rubber stamp for left-wing policy.  The folks who despise "strict constructionism" as right-wing "oppression" and extol the virtues of a "living Constitution" philosophy have been celebrating.  The "Living Constitution" is a euphemism for the idea that the letter and intent of the law are meaningless:  the whim of elite are the law.

Oregon Siege Ends

The occupation of an empty federal building by protesters of government land rights abuse ended last week with the surrender of the protesters to the government.  The protesters had probably not counted on the willingness of the feds to murder them in cold blood when they began their ill-fated project.

Transits against the chart for the beginning of the occupation, at the time of the departure of the last protester are interesting.

Transiting North Node stationary, closely conjunct transiting Jupiter, both conjunct North Node and Jupiter on the IC of the occupation chart:  both Jupiter and the IC have connotations of death, and the North Node suggests karma.

Transiting Mars tightly square Ceres on the occupation chart, transiting Sun conjunct said Ceres, and transiting Moon semisquare said Ceres:  I don't know of anyone who has really mapped out what Ceres does, but I tend to notice that she tends to be in aspect with both the Sun and Moon when people or things "go away".

Pallas and Uranus

An updated/expanded version of this page lives here.

I've been studying the asteroid ("dwarf planet") Pallas for years now, comparing the placement of Pallas in thousands of birth charts.  Through a massive trial-and-error process, a theory of the practical function of Pallas has emerged.  This theory is the key component to my method for directly mapping sociopolitical ideology to the birth chart, a method which forms a focal point of this blog.

Not too long ago, I gave a talk on my findings on Pallas for NCGR in San Francisco.  While this talk remains (to my knowledge) the most comprehensive overview in existence of the practical interpretation of Pallas, it was missing a significant piece.  Because I did not yet have a compelling theory on Pallas in aspect to Uranus, I left Uranus out of the talk.  I now believe I have such a theory.

The Pallas-Uranus aspect is, in my estimation, the aspect of the Demiurge, the builder of worlds.  Pallas (intelligence) plus Uranus (breaking away, differentiation) seems to indicate the ability to deliberately create a new reality.  Persons without this aspect can certainly invent significant technologies or fictional universes, but there is a noticeable difference in Uranus-Pallas natives who do these things.  These persons are often ceaseless fountains of innovation, and the worlds they create or evoke have a life of their own which often grows far beyond their creator.  Here is some evidence:

FICTION

George Lucas - Pallas conjunct Uranus
Creator of "Star Wars" and its universe.

Isaac Asimov - Pallas conjunct Uranus
Author/creator of the "Foundation" universe.

Warren Ellis - Pallas conjunct Uranus
Author/creator of "Planetary".  The majority of his stories are miniature world-building exercises.

Gene Roddenberry - Pallas quincunx Uranus and conjunct Uranus ruler Neptune.
Creator of "Star Trek".

JRR Tolkien - Pallas at 15 Aquarius, widely square Uranus
Author/creator of "Lord of the Rings" and its universe.

JK Rowling - Pallas at 15 Aquarius, quincunx Uranus
Author/creator of "Harry Potter" and its universe.

Stan Lee - Pallas square Uranus
Creator of the "Marvel Universe" of super-heroes.

Kim Stanley Robinson - Pallas trine Uranus
Author/creator of the "Mars Trilogy" and its extremely rich universe.

Frank Herbert - Pallas septile Uranus
Author/creator of "Dune".

SOCIOPOLITICAL

George HW Bush - Pallas conjunct Uranus
The man who brought the term "New World Order" into the popular lexicon.

Bernie Sanders - Pallas opposite Uranus
A man currently wooing millions into his own vision of a "Socialist" America

Arianna Huffington - Pallas trine/parallel Uranus
HuffPo is something of a universe unto itself.

Ron Paul - Pallas trine Uranus (helped by Sun/Mercury)
The "spark" of modern libertarian culture (and its mutant child the Tea Party).

Karl Marx - Pallas square Uranus
Creator of a notional world which many in the 20th century attempted to make real.

Margaret Thatcher - Pallas square Uranus
Creator of a sort of "alternate England" not seen before or since.

Kim Il-Sung - Pallas sesquiquadrate Uranus
Creator of North Korea, a universe unto itself.

Jim Jones - Pallas sesquiquadrate Uranus
"Jonestown".

Marshall Applewhite - Pallas sesquiquadrate Uranus
Leader of the "Heaven's Gate" cult.

Adolf Hitler - Pallas tridecile / mundane-square Uranus, Pallas semisquare ruler of Uranus
Another world-builder.

L Ron Hubbard - Pallas sextile Uranus
Prolific science-fiction author and creator of the world-view called Scientology.

Jean-Jacques Rousseau - Mercury at the midpoint of Uranus and Pallas.
Author of fiction, and forefather of the modern totalitarian State.

Donald Trump - Pallas parallel Uranus
Creator of a real estate and media empire,  one which may acquire the United States soon.

Rupert Murdoch - Pallas contraparallel Uranus (bridged by Sun)
Fox News, like HuffPo, is something like its own universe.

TECHNOLOGICAL

Thomas Edison - Pallas conjunct Uranus
Through technologies he either created or stole, is also the author of a world:  ours.

Steve Jobs - Pallas quincunx Uranus (bridged by Jupiter)
Brought us the "universe" of Apple products.

Joy Mangano - Pallas in Aquarius opposite Uranus
Inventor and midwife of a "world" of household devices.

ANTHROPOLOGICAL

Anne Frank - Pallas conjunct Uranus
The WW2 diarist who recreated her tiny universe for the world.

Margaret Mead - Pallas square Uranus (helped by Mercury)
The legendary anthropologist who brought the cultures of Samoa and others to the West.

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn - Pallas semisquare Uranus
Soviet gulag survivor who revealed that "world" to the rest of the world.

ART/ENTERTAINMENT (non-fiction)

Elvis Presley - Pallas conjunct Uranus
A "world-builder" in popular music if ever there was one.

Miles Davis - Pallas square Uranus
Created or helped to create numerous major sub-genres of Jazz.

Hugh Hefner - Pallas square Uranus (helped by Mercury)
Created the Playboy "universe" of entertainment for males.

Johann Sebastian Bach - Pallas at Uranus-Neptune midpoint, semisextile Uranus
Developer of the chromatic 12-tone scale upon which virtually all Western music is based.

I hope this communicates some of the "feel" of this aspect.  As with all my Pallas research, this is probably just the tip of the iceberg.  For numerous similar examples of Pallas in aspect to the other planets, please see my "Interpreting Pallas" talk.

My own chart has Mars in Gemini conjunct my Pallas-Uranus midpoint, perhaps accounting for my own knack for discovering new astrological techniques.

Santorum Drops Out

I didn't fully register that Rick Santorum was running for President again, but this matters not: he has just dropped out.  As with Rand Paul who has also dropped out, Santorum did not do well enough in the Iowa caucuses to justify going on.  And, as with Paul dropping out, we have significant activity involving our injurious astrological friend Chiron.

times unknown

Transiting Jupiter and North Node quincunx Santorum Chiron:  public injury which impacts the future.

Transiting Uranus conjunct solar arc Chiron:  injury, perhaps unexpected.

Transiting Pluto/Mercury/Venus square solar arc Chiron:  news that brings "death" and injury, possibly involving money.

Unless you are actually in the business of healing and fixing things and people, Chiron is probably not your friend.

Rand Paul Drops Out

Rand Paul has suspended his bid for the US presidency in the face of dismal Iowa results and fundraising.  In the face of the aggressive and uncompromising image of his rivals Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, Rand's watered-down brand of libertarianism doesn't seem to have caught on.  This is in stark contrast to Rand's father Ron Paul who made few (if any) compromises on principle during his presidential runs -- and inspired massive support and a general awakening of libertarianism in America.  A sad day for "work-within-the-system" libertarians and perhaps a lesson to future liberty candidates.

Transits/progression against Rand's chart (time of birth and time of decision unknown):

Transiting Pluto conjunct Paul Sun, triggered by transiting Mercury:  news triggers a type of death.

Progressed Sun and Chiron conjunct Paul Jupiter in Pisces, triggered by transiting Neptune:  hopes and dreams wounded and made to disappear.

Transiting Saturn square Paul Pluto:  power, restrained.

This makes Donald Trump the closest thing we have to an anti-war candidate.  I have some serious problems with him (not the least of which is his record of imminent domain abuse) but he appears to be the least evil of the pack now that Rand is out.

I'm glad, at least, that I'm not writing about yet another terror attack (see last month's posts).
